Sherry McAdams

ARTIST's BIOGRAPHY- Sherry McAdams is a contemporary painter whose work has roots in the abstract expressionist tradition, yet embraces a style that is uniquely her own. Shapes and line appear to morph in and out of focus, and subtle imagery whispers beneath the surface. It is the quiet subdued neutrals with their absence of light that work so well to introduce the punch of intense light and pure color. Sherry's art combines energetic brushwork, along with a mysterious layering of color and texture to create a variety of soft and hard passages to capture the viewer's attention.
Sherry attended East Carolina University, and earned a BFA from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is a graphic designer and has been employed with Carolina Biological Supply Company for the last 18 years. Influenced by scientific images, such as microscopic human, plant, and animal images has led her to investigate more abstract compositions in her paintings. Represented by Tyler White O’Brien Gallery. |
